As indicated by the name, these companies are not limited by legal liability. It is often the route for companies in the initial stage of development. The advantage for such companies is that the start-up and administrative costs are very low but this must be weighed against the increased risks and the difficulty in obtaining credit.
The minimum requirements for such companies is that it is very difficult to obtain statistics on the actual number that are trading. In my next posting I will explain more about how the numbers are calculated and how you can obtain information on such companies.

One of the key things to determine when researching a UK company is the legal form of the company. This will indicate very quickly how much information you can easily obtain or not, on this specific company. There are a variety of forms but in the next few postings I will focus on those companuies that trade with unlimited liability.

I will focus on some of the better known sources as well as those often overlooked by many people.
